every space stations prouces something and have their own needs of raw material to produce those items. the economy in the game responds like the real world economy, there is supply and demand.
you can even board a disable enemy ships to make it your own. you can take control of any kind of ships, from a tiny weeny fighter ship to a very big capital superfreighter. you can order them to trade, to protect your station, or even to wage war against any other faction. you can own your own fleets of spaceships. you can be a bounty hunter and make profit by hunting down criminal. yea, it is a space sim game with spaceships and aliens, but the core game idea is pretty similar in my opinion.
